What kind of paint or markers are used for painting a needlepoint canvas?
I need to know what can be used (or should never be) for hand painting needlepoint canvases. It must be permanent so it will not rub off on the threads as you stitch. It also needs to be cleaning-safe, as I want to sell the canvases I paint.

I would use fabric paint. It is usually durable and permanent. Allow to dry completely before stitching.
bob ross uses oil paints on his masterpieces. I’ve bought some at the hobby lobby but I’m sure you can find them at any arts an crafts retailer
