Can I use Needlepoint thread to learn how to Crochet?
I am starting a beginning crochet class tomorrow, and I have tons of needlepoint thread/yarn. Can I use that for the class along with the crochet needle? Thank you for your response.

Needlepoint Christmas Stocking Patterns?
My mom makes Christmas stockings, and this year she would like to make one for me, but I don’t want it to be a typical stocking, that I keep finding online. I would like to find a pattern that has a little boy and little girl, looking out their window at Santa in his sleigh, or the kids looking at Santa Claus from up the stairs, and Santa will be putting presents under their tree, and the girl will be in a night gown and the boy will be in his pajamas. Can anyone help me find a pattern like that. I know it’s a lot to ask, but Christmas is right around the corner people. :] thanks

What's the difference between needlepoint and cross stitch?
I’m learning needlepoint with a little kit I got, the design is printed onto the cloth. I want to eventually use counted patterns (available online), but I noticed that they’re called "counted cross-stitch" patterns. Are needlepoint and cross stitch just interchangeable? If I learn one, do I know the other? Thanks!

My grandmother’s birthday is August 12, and I don’t know what to get her. I was thinking something homemade because she likes those kinds of things, but I am not sure. I know how to play the piano, sing well, needlepoint, sew(but not very well), cook, etc. Those are all things she likes to do and she also likes gardening and music. Does anyone have any ideas?

How do you hide all those thread "tails" in cross stitch?
I’m just starting to try out counted cross stitch and find that I need to better hide those countless tails of thread that cover the back of the canvas. They weren’t noticeable from the front until I added the stick on backing and then they all became very apparent! What do I do so the back is not inundated with roads of thread? (I don’t have this problem with needlepoint since everything can be tucked in…what’s the trick with counted cross stitch?)
